My Profile

Angela Kamena holds a master’s degree in Management of Development with spatialization in Food and Nutrition Security from Van Hall Larenstein University in the Netherlands. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the Copperbelt University in Zambia.
She possesses a diverse range of business experiences and a strong drive for entrepreneurship. She has successfully established and operated a small home business selling clothes, shoes, and bedding for two years while still working full-time to supplement on her salary. This venture allowed her to gain valuable insights into customer preferences and develop sales and marketing strategies.
Furthermore, she showcased her entrepreneurial mindset by developing a business plan for a fish farming venture in her hometown (Mansa district- Northern part of Zambia). Through this, she applied for a grant from a non-governmental organization that supports start-up entrepreneurs. Although she was unable to secure the necessary funds due to unforeseen circumstances, her initiative and planning skills highlighted her determination to explore new business opportunities.
Additionally, she has invested in her entrepreneurial education by attending short training programs and courses focused on entrepreneurship. These experiences have equipped her with crucial skills such as leadership, communication, and budgeting, which are essential for successfully managing and scaling up businesses. Overall, Angela’s foundation of starting small businesses, her passion for entrepreneurship combined with practical experience and continuous learning, positioned her well to pursue a business in mushroom farming and selling in Zambia.
This year April (2024) she managed to establish her mushroom farming business that is based in Lusaka, Zambia. Although the business is in its initial stages and on a small-scale level, Angela is passionate and hopeful that this business has the potential to grow to greater heights and provide employment for many in her location.
